FEZANA at the United Nations
The Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) United Nations-NGO group participated in the
53rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City on March 2-13, 2009.
The 53rd CSW priority theme:
The equal sharing of responsibilities between women and men, including care giving in the context of HIV/AIDS
In keeping with the theme, FEZANA chose to highlight the impressive work done by the Bel-Air Hospital in Panchgani India. Bel-Air, once a tuberculosis sanatorium, is now a hospital and community healthcare center focusing on HIV/AIDS and TB.
